Asian Development Bank and European Union to Cooperate Technically with Afghanistan in Energy Transmission from Central Asia to South Asia

H.E. Prof. Mohammad HumayonQayoumi, Acting Minister of Finance and Chief Advisor on Infrastructure Affairs to H.E. the President met with Mr. Narendra Singru, ADB director for Afghanistan and the representative of EU Ambassador.
In the meeting, the parties discussed how the ADB and EU are working on regional connectivity, energy transmission from Central Asia to South Asia.
The Acting Minister of Finance requested the Asian Development Bank and the European Union to jointly discuss technical studies with Afghanistan, Pakistan and India in order to transfer Central Asian Energy to the South Asia, which was welcomed by them. They added that the energy should be used by the people, and cooperation in this sector should be long term and strategic; which the Acting Minister of Finance consented on.

At the end, it was decided that the ADB and EU start technical studies in this area after coming into agreement with the three countries.
