H.E. Prof. Mohammad Humayon Qayoumi, Acting Minister of Finance and Chief Advisor on Infrastructure to H.E. the President, participated in the Meeting of Commissioners of World Bank Energy Sector for South Asia

In the meetings, they discussed transmission of Central Asia’s Energy through Afghanistan to South Asia and its economic benefits for the country, changing Afghanistan into energy transit hub for the region, investment on solar energy, installation of floating solar power on hydropower dams like Naghlu, Sorubi and Salma, providing a suitable base for increasing renewable energy resources in Afghanistan and other important subjects.

Acting Minister of Finance said ‘that we have allocated major parts of the investment package to the energy sector. He asked the World Bank commissioners to encourage the investors to invest on energy sector in Afghanistan

He added that we are in the process of connecting all Island of electricity to a national grid of energy and plan to electrify every home and business centers with sustainable and affordable energy all over the country.
