Afghanistan’s Exports Soar by 13.5%, Transits Post 24.5% Rise - YoY Evaluation

Due to the facilities provided by MoF at Afghanistan's customs, there has been a significant increase in the level of exports and foreign transit from the country's customs in the first five months of the current FY1404 (Afghan Calendar) based on YoY - compared to the same period last year.
In the first five months of FY1403, 43,115 shipments were exported, which in the first five months of the current FY1404 were 48,928 shipments, marking a 13.5% YoY increase in the level of exports compared to last year.
Likewise, in the field of foreign transit, in the first five months of the current FY1404, 13,188 shipments were transited from Afghanistan, which in the first five months of last year reached 10,601 shipments, also marking a 24.5% year-on-year increase in the level of foreign transit compared to the same period last year.
Notably, the largest exports were to Pakistan, India, Kazakhstan, UAE, Uzbekistan and Turkey; and Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Iran saw Afghanistan as transit hub.
