Acting Minister of Finance and Pakistan Ambassador to Afghanistan Discusses Bilateral Economic and Trade Issues

H.E. Prof. Mohammad Humayon Qayoumi, Acting Minister of Finance and Chief Advisor on Infrastructure to H.E. the President met Pakistani Ambassador to Afghanistan today July 02, 2019.

In the meeting, Pakistani ambassador to Afghanistan expressed his deepest sympathy for yesterday’s terrorist attack which lots of Afghans were martyred and wounded and the parties had  discussion on the issues related to the visit of H.E. the President to Pakistan such as exports, trade and transit of Afghan merchandize through Wagah Port, the transmission of energy and gas through Afghanistan, providing scholarship for Afghan students, Pakistan investment in textile sector, customs affairs and other related subjects. 

Acting Minister of Finance told the Pakistani side that Torkham and Spin Boldak Customs operate 24 hours and called on the Pakistani side to operate 24 hours a day as Afghanistan , in order to provide facilities to national traders and passengers.

At the end , it was decided that the two sides should have 2 technical sessions with relevant departments in Kabul and Islam Abad to discuss the technical aspects of the issues raised in Afghan President’s visit to Pakistan as well as taking necessary steps for its implementation
