MoF Leads 5 Key IEA – Ministers, 6 Other Bodies for Important Decisions on Tariffs of Numerous Items to Promote Domestic Industry

 

The third meeting of the ‘Tariff Committee’ for the current  year 1404 (Afghan Calendar) was held under the chairmanship of the Minister of Finance, Alhaj Mullah Mohammad Naser Akhund, and with the participation of the ministers of the Industry and Commerce; Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock; Mines and Petroleum; Economy and Public Health; the authorized representative for the DM of Economic Affairs of Prime Ministership, the Directors of the General Directorate of Intelligence, the National Standards Authority, the Chambers of Mines and Industries, Commerce and Investment; and Agriculture and Livestock.

After comprehensive discussions in this meeting, decisions were made in accordance with the principle of supporting domestic industry, agriculture and trade growth, which will be implemented based on the principles of the tariff.

Likewise, reforms were also made to the tariff codes for chains and glass, and porcelain tableware.

Notably, the meetings of the ‘Tariff Committee’ were previously held at the level of deputies. However based on the special guidance of HH Amir al-Momineen (may All protect him), from now on, considering the importance of the decisions of the said committee, they will be held at the level of ministers and Directors of independent bodies.
