With the proposal of General Directorate of Customs and the approval of the MoF, in order to support Afghan migrants and create facilities for them, the paid land taxes on vehicles transporting their goods from Pakistan was exempted.
Before this, the load of goods of Afghan migrants, Afghan registered trucks, while entering the territory of Afghanistan were supposed to pay 2,500 Afs land tax, for small cars 1,500 Afs, foreign trucks were supposed to pay 5,000 Afs and finally foreign small cars were to pay 3,000 Afs as land taxes. Paying land taxes caused congestion and required a lot of time to deliver the said amount of money to the banks, which created problems for the Afghan residents, especially women and children; therefore, with the intention to solve these problems and support the Afghan people, the domicile of Ministry of Finance decided to waive the land taxes of these vehicles.
It is worth mentioning that since the recent decision of the government of Pakistan to make Afghan refugees return to their country, every day dozens of vehicles hauling the goods of Afghan refugees enter the country through the Afghans’ customs.
