Importing any kind of plastic bags into the country is interdicted
With the restoration of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA), the import of all types of plastic bags or poly bags into the country is rigidly prohibited. The purpose of not importing plastic bags into the country is to prevent environmental pollution.
After more than two years of the return of IEA, the importation of 3,000 parcels of plastic bags, each parcel weighing 25 kg, has been prevented at Kandahar customs. Despite strict ban has been imposed on the import of plastic bags; however some importers wanted to smuggle them into the country.
The General Directorate of Customs of Mof strongly requests all traders to refrain from importing any kind of poly bags into the country.
