Finance Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Finance Conversed with Managing Director of International Monetary Fund

H.E Abdul Habib Zadran, Finance DM of Ministry of Finance conversed with Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of International Monetary Fund through a video conference on April 22, 2020.

Central Asian Minister of Finances’, Presidents’ of Central Banks of Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Iran were in this conference too. Managing Director of IMF emphasized on the collaboration between countries in the fight against Coronavirus, negative impacts of this pandemic on the economies of these countries, and what the IMF can do to help with the situation.

Other countries shared their experiences in the meeting and representing Afghanistan H.E Zadran expressed his concerns that the Coronavirus pandemic has had negative effects on the economy of our country, and asked the IMF to assist Afghanistan more in these times, because Afghanistan is still an aid-reliant country. Meanwhile, he talked about Afghanistan governments plans and programs in the fight against Coronavirus.
