Development Projects Review Meeting funded by the World Bank held at Ministry of Finance

The Development Projects Review Meeting funded by the World Bank chaired by H.E. Mohammad Humayon Qayoumi, Acting Minister of Finance and Chief Advisor on Infrastructure to H.E. the President.

Ministers of Communications & Information Technology, Rural Rehabilitations & Development, Acting Ministers of Energy & Water, Higher Education, Deputy Minister of Education, Head of Technical Training Department, Head of Afghanistan Railway Departmemt, representatives of Municipalities, Independent Administrative Reforms and Civil Services Commission, Ministry of Urban Development & Housing and Land Authority, Ministry of Public Health and other departments receives assistance from the World Bank for Development Projects have participated in the event.

In the meeting, ministries and independent agencies discussed problems they faced in implementation of their development projects while emphasizing on solution and effectiveness of the projects

 “Ministries and Independent Agencies, after receiving the assistances should spend them on the productive projects which generate revenue for the government” said Mr. Qayoumi, Acting Minister of Finance.

“By implementing these projects in revenue-generating areas, we can gradually get to economic self-reliance and sustainable economic growth,” he added.

At the end, it was decided that the projects funded by the World Bank, should be reviewed quarterly in order to speed up the projects progress.
