Acting Minister of Finance meets Director-General of Afghanistan National Standard Authority

Mohammad Khalid Payenda, Acting Minister of Finance met with Zabihullah Ziarmal, Director of Afghanistan National Standard Authority (ANSA) in Afghanistan Custom and Revenue Department. 

The meeting was also attended by Alem Shah Ibrahimi, Deputy Minister of Finance for Custom and Revenue, and a number of ANSA officials.

The parties discussed the organizational structure of ANSA, recruitment of NTA staff, salary scales of the staff as well as the establishment of facilities for the staff of this department in areas of Border customs.

Zabihullah Ziarmel, the Director-General of ANSA, while briefing on organizational structure said, there are 70 vacancies in the department, most of which are specialized and technical. Therefore, in order to advance specialized and technical work, at least 41 NTA positions (bast) are required, for which serious consideration is needed. He also called for more coordination and cooperation between the customs and the National Standards Office.

The Acting Minister of Finance, in order to fundamentally solve the problems and challenges, pointed out that the National Standards Office should prepare a proposal for the new salary scale plan to be referred to the committee for the necessary decisions.

It was decided that the Directorate General of Customs and the National Standards Authority jointly set up a memorandum of understanding for further cooperation and coordination so that the responsibilities of the parties are clear and things are done better.
