AfghanistanFinancial Management Information System is extended to all provinces

The Afghanistan Financial Management Information System (AFMIS) Rollout team in Nuristan province has printed the first check from AFMIS today. Now the rollout of AFMIS across the provinces of Afghanistan is complete. With this tool the 34 provinces and all line Ministries have a system-based budget control. The system based payments ensure a high degree of fiduciary control.

The AFMIS team in the treasury has worked tirelessly over the past 18 months for accomplishing this milestone for the country. Noristan was the last step in connecting all provinces to the AFMIS network.

Afghanistan has attained a very important landmark in its endeavor of implementing a world class Financial Management System.

Afghan Government organizations and donor representatives congratulated Ministry of Finance for its performance in this regard. They recognized this achievement as a great success. AFMIS generalization improves the Afghan government’s fiduciary controls and raises donors' confidence which will lead to streamline more funds through the Afghan National Budget.
